2011 Spring Newsletter
Dear Brantwood Friend,
The saying goes, “April showers bring may flowers” but what do March rains bring? Today’s rain made it a perfect afternoon to go bowling. Thanks to Bama Lanes owner, Steve Landers and our friends at Vaughn Forest Church, the kids enjoyed good food, laughter and two fun games of bowling on this cool, drizzly Saturday afternoon. Yes, it would have been a perfect day for a nap, but try convincing 28 kids to do that at the same time! So rather than rest, we bowled and made great memories together. I’m not sure which team won but I am sure that Nick made a strike, Chelsea ended on a spare, “Q” showed off his dance moves on the lane, Marquita won a stuffed animal for Will, Brandon made the pins crash loudly and I showed that I could still throw a strike! Yes, it was good family fun. Speaking of family, here’s what’s happening with a few of our kids in the Brantwood family: Tony, a student at Virginia College was just voted “Mr. Virginia College” for 2011. Jack turns 15 on Monday and Daja turns 13 on Tuesday. Jasmine is working at IHOP and Valencia has moved into an apartment. Jamar is in St. Louis for an advanced training program. Alan played in his first soccer match at Lee and Brittany traveled with the school band to Mardi Gras.
Because of the financial donations by many friends like you, kids at Brantwood are provided with so many opportunities and experiences that would otherwise not be possible. Thank you for supporting our family and making positive changes in the lives of youth. Thank you for being a friend we can count on. Thank you for being a part of our family.
In partnership together for our children,
